DESCRIPTION AND CHARACTERISTICS OF EACH RESEARCH LINE

a) Materials

Development of new materials. Study of physical-chemical, photochemical and photophysical classes of organic and inorganic compounds of electrodic conductive materials and processes. Studies of thermal properties of technological importance, biological, drug and cosmetics with qualitative and quantitative characterization purposes. Characterisation of supramolecular aggregates. Study of neuropeptides and neurotransmitters receptors in the differentiation of embryonic stem cells. Isomerism study conformational and electronic interactions, quantitative relationships of structure and reactivity and investigations of solvent and micellar solutions. Physicochemical studies of surfactant solutions and colloids and macromolecules surfaces.

b) Instrumentation

Development, characterization studies and technical applications aimed at qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis.

c) Biotechnology

Evaluation of parameters related to interactions between synthetic and natural macromolecules and their role in the development of new materials for application in technology and engineering materials. Planning, synthesis, structural characterization, and study of reactivity of transition metal complexes, aimed application in medicinal chemistry and/or pharmacology.

d) Environmental Sciences

Chemical characterization and studies to elucidate reaction mechanisms in environmental systems. Study of mechanisms and applications of bioluminescence and chemiluminescence. Development and/or applications of analytical methods aimed at full determination and analysis of stable and reactive species.
