The purpose of the meeting is to promote science in the area of DNA repair, mutagenesis and genomic stability in Brazil, especially in São Paulo, by fostering interaction between scientists and students in a stimulating and open setting during a 2 and half day symposium.

In the 6th FARM-DNA participants will have the opportunity to discuss the most recent developments in the field of DNA repair and mutagenesis, as the meeting is designed to gather people from all DNA repair related fields to facilitate the exchange of ideas and expertise. The meeting will be divided into 3 full conferences and 7 symposia, with over 30 international and local speakers. We will also have two poster sections for a more personal interaction between students and the other attendees.

This is the sixth edition of the FARM-DNA meeting, with previous editions being held in São Paulo, in 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2013, and in Belo Horizonte, in 2009. The 2013 edition was held as a satellite meeting to the International Conference on Environmental Mutagenesis (ICEM), held in Foz do Igauçu, just as this edition will be a satellite meeting to the International Congress of Genetics (CG), also to be held in Foz do Iguaçu in Sept. 2018.
