About Graduate Program in Biochemistry (Biological Sciences)

Admission tests are scheduled for February and July.

The Graduate Program in Biochemistry at the University of São Paulo focuses on the development of highly qualified, independent and innovative graduate-level researchers trained to conduct cutting-edge scientific projects and to pursue careers in academia and industry. It is a well-established graduate program, evaluated with the highest scores by CAPES since the federal graduate program review system was implemented.
The program currently includes 40 advisors, mostly from the Biochemistry Department, University of São Paulo, but also from Institute Butantan and Hospital Sirio-Libanes. These principal investigators lead internationally competitive research groups in a diversity of areas of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
The program welcomes masters and doctoral students. For admission students can take a general biochemistry and molecular biology test offered biannually on site or present results from the GRE (General Test or Subject Test in Biology).
