Our Biochemistry PhD program prides itself on attracting a diverse and highly qualified cohort of students, who bring a wealth of backgrounds and experiences to our academic community. Doctoral trainees come from a variety of academic disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, and Biomedical Sciences, among others, enriching our program with a breadth of perspectives and expertise. Upon enrollment, students engage in postgraduate courses in Advanced Biochemistry and Molecular Gene Biology, further deepening their understanding and proficiency in the field.
Our Ph.D. program has maintained its strong capacity to train highly qualified researchers who are absorbed into different segments of society. A considerable portion (23%) of our doctors take up positions in public or private Teaching and Research Institutions distributed in 19 states and all regions of the country. In the private sector, 91% work in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical companies, carrying out activities directly related to their training. 33% work in research and development and 9% have administrative and executive positions in these industries.
